Everthing's Doing It...

Vibrating that is. Moving back and forth, too and fro, spiraling in and out. Quantum physicists claim that the "reality" we experience with our senses literally blinks in and out of existence; from the vastness from which all "things" arise.

Every thought, every emotion, every action sets up a field of vibration. It arises, sustains and decays according to the amount of energy and intention behind it. It is also affected by the vibrations it meets on its journey. A stone hits a "seemingly" still pond; waves of vibration ripple outward, reaching the tip of a frog's head, the concentric wave splits into sub-ripples of vibration - the frog blinks in acknowledgment.

Everything in this world depends on the synchronization of waves of vibration. It's the basis for all communication and a key component of vibrant life. Athletic and artistic expression that demonstrates a mastery of synchronization, a high degree of
physiological precision in relation to time, holds our collective attention like nothing else.

Some vibrations support an unimpeded out flowing of life energy which is perceived by the discerning observer as grace and beauty; in thought, word, deed, performance, and creative manifestations. Other vibrations seem to create resistance, suppressing life.

Standing on the 10 meter platform, the diver has a choice on where to direct her thoughts, her intention. The slightest anticipation of injury evokes a vibration that instantly triggers hesitation - which immediately calls up doubt - which, unchecked, creates fear - which tends to manifest the outcome that was first anticipated. Landing parallel to the water surface from 33 feet creates a vibration - shock waves – not a particularly pleasant one.

A mind that is broadcasting calm, clarity and humility has a "life supporting" vibe. A mind that is broadcasting fear, suspicion and judgment creates turbulence in the field; friction and resistance.

Is this good or bad? Perhaps the best answer is neither and both. It all depends on the angle and scope of your perception and whether you choose to judge at all.

We learn from resistance, both inner and outer. If we resist the lesson that comes with our response to resistance, from hardships, from things not going as we expected, we create more of the vibrations that draw these types of challenges to us.

We are all vibrating. The notes we generate from our thoughts, conscious and unconscious, set up fields which have magnetic characteristics.

If you are in a room filled with guitars and you pluck the "A" string (vibrating at 440 cycles per second), all of the "A" strings in the room will begin to vibrate sympathetically.

The vibrations and thoughts we broadcast have the most immediate impact on ourselves, and then our immediate surroundings; our family, pets, plants, co-workers and friends...

When we attune ourselves, on all levels, to the frequency of interconnection and interdependence with all life - to grace unfolding, that's what we perceive all around us. We don't react to the fear of separation. We feel supported as an integral part of a whole. We can also hold a receptive and non-judgmental space for those who are still learning their lessons through self-imposed resistance.

Balance, in this context, is not becoming attached to being in or out of resistance. Neuro-muscularly, you can't have a release without first having a contraction. Similarly, you can't experience limitlessness without experiencing the illusion of
limitation.

Perhaps the key to vibrant living is in finding our way back to an authentic trust in the intelligence of the universe itself. From there, we have a much better chance of trusting ourselves and those around us. We can focus more on attuning our own instrument to the frequencies we find in the harmonious world of nature.

With regard to harmonious relationships, the Beach Boys said it best:

"Gotta keep those love good vibrations happening with her... ooo ooo ooo, good vibrations..."
