Imagine you’re an infinite soul and your number’s come up in the cosmic lottery. There’s a body coming into being, and it’s been reserved for you. Your assignment is to continue the process of individuation and becoming wise while at Earth School.
The brochure looks promising:
“…great food, art, music, movies, incredible sunsets, beautiful men/women… Your state-of-the-art human body is a fleshy data probe, equipped with an advanced multimedia system; stereo sound, vision, taste, olfactory senses and highly sensitive ‘pleasure centers’…”
Oh yeah! OK, where’s the catch? You read the fine print:
“All souls assigned to Earth School are subject to soul amnesia. This “identity” modification is necessary for creating the conditions that make the goal of Self remembering a worthwhile challenge.”
Hmmmm. Sounds fishy. You read on:
“… Earth School presents a unique opportunity to test your resolve, especially your knowledge that the Universe is completely trustworthy…”
Well, as a soul, you already have eons of proof that the Universe is infallible in its design. So what would it be like to enter an alien world without knowing who you are? Sounds like an adventure! Your curiosity is piqued. You read the “need to know” section.
“You will enter a realm of duality where the dominating societal views are fear based. Lacking soul memory, most humans are consciously unaware of their immortal identity; in other words, un-enlightened. This is perfectly natural in this limited state of awareness. However, lacking in the knowing that their essence is indestructible, humans will tend to adopt behavior that is organized around the belief that they are vulnerable and not safe in their environment. As a result, they will attempt to dominate nature and each other – even to the very real possibility of extinction.
To ‘cope’ with the alien environment of Earth School , you will need to create an identity, a false self also known as an ego or persona. The ego will naturally look out for its own survival needs, unaware of its importance to the collective soul of humanity. As if it was protecting something perishable (indeed, the ego is your own made up myth), the ego will justify any means to its own ends until it develops a conscience.
As an adaptation to threat at a societal level, ego centered humans learn to become expert ‘fault finders’. They will tend to criticize, complain, accuse, judge, condemn and punish* other humans, drawing their awareness away from their soul presence and the inspiration and insight that comes with a soul’s view of humanity.
The ego is a useful and necessary vehicle for self discovery. However, as you mature you will find it limiting and distracting from your ultimate test at Earth School, which is; to become Self aware; a consciousness that is both aware of its infinite soul nature -and- able to consciously inhibit the threat reaction of the fragile ego (see the fact of ‘un-enlightened’ behavior, and not react).
Every day at Earth School includes some sort of a test of conscience. Here are a few clues to help you on your journey;
Watch the quality of your thoughts. If your thoughts are generally critical, complaintive and punishing, the world will always appear to be untrustworthy.
- You can either learn or blame, not both.
- Every human is a soul in process, a Master in the making. Forgetting this fact, All Souls will appear as ‘Ass Holes’ – out to make your life a living hell.
With soul awareness, you will easily and gracefully bless your community with much greater levels of organization and cooperation, performing great works of art and beauty. However, that ability will escape you until you can turn off the limiting self talk of the fault finding persona.
Good luck, and remember; I am the presence. When you are present too, everything works out perfectly.”
OK, got it. Remember, remember, remember… ZAP! Who the hell am I and who’s this annoying person slapping my ass? Whaaaaaaaa!!! (uh oh – my first complaint!)
